To reduce(simplify) a fraction:

1. Find the prime factors of the numerator and denominator.
2. Divide the numerator and denominator by all the prime factors they have in common.

## Example

Simplify:
$\frac{300}{20000}$

Write the numerator and denominator as products of their prime factors:
= $\frac{2*2*3*5*5}{2*2*2*2*2*5*5*5*5}$

The common prime factors are 2, 2, 5 and 5. Divide numerator and denominator by 2*2*5*5:
= $\frac{3}{2*2*2*5*5}$

Simplify the denominator:
= $\frac{3}{200}$

## Harder example

Simplify:
$\frac{781}{923}$
Write the numerator and denominator as products of their prime factors:
=$\frac{11*71}{13*71}$ The common prime factor is 71. Divide numerator and demominator by 71.
=$\frac{11}{13}$
