Completing the Square is a method used to find the x-intercepts for a quadratic function, or parabola. When,

f(x) = ax^2 + bx + c = 0,\quad a \ne 0

With x being the variable and a, b and c being constant, a quadratic function can be written as:

 (x + \frac{b}{2})^2 - ((\frac{b}{2})^2 - c)

This is one possible method to determine the x-intercepts. They can also be found by using the quadratic formula, factoring or graphing.
